About 10 years ago, the ministry of Finance and National Planning embarked on a project called the Integrated Financial Management Information System. Up to now, its not clear whether the project was completed but rumor has it that it was a flop. The idea behind the project was good, but somehow during the planning phase, the involved stakeholders where very unrealistic or had intentions to plunder resources and the picture below explains it. Why have expensive servers in so many sites? Ideally, they were only supposed to have severs in two sites i.e the central site at their office and the Disaster recovery site, this could have been enough to serve all GRZ departments across the country. With a million Dollars, they could have managed to deliver the project... but with such a plan they probably spend 10 times more.
