About 1325 hours on Saturday 13 July 20013 a serious crash occurred on the A76 Dumfries to Kilmarnock road at the entrance to Drumlanrig Castle, Thornhill involving a blue Citroen Saxo car and a red Ducato motorbike. The 41 year old rider of the motorbike was conveyed to hospital by air ambulance suffering serious injuries. The 80 year old driver of the Citroen was not injured. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash or who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision to contact officers at Thornhill Police on 101
