About 18 years ago I sat around on Thanksgiving Day after eating till I was stuffed and watching TV till I fell asleep...thinking, is this being thankful ?? Just the word Thanks-Giving motivated me to ask God, what can I do Lord ? Well I asked a group of friends... do you feel we should be more giving of what we are thankful for? They said of course... So we prayed that God would show us how, just a few days later... God answered that prayer with an article on the front page of the newspaper... Saying help needed, to prepare and deliver food to the elderly in New Bedford. Wow... God is amazing when our hearts are in the right place. So in 1997 a bunch of friends with no idea what they were doing, started a ministry in the basement kitchen of an old Baptist Church in NB, that first year we teamed up with Coastline Elderly Services an in faith prepared an delivered 100 meals to the elderly. Since then... every year God has opened incredible opportunities to serve, an be more thankful... Since 1997 The Lord has granted us, and a army of volunteers... The blessing of being able to provide over 25,000 meals to the elderly, the homeless, the sick, the less fortunate... DSS, Firehouses, policeman, on an on the list goes. This year as we prepare for another outpouring of Gods goodness on thanksgiving day, I just want to praise our God for his amazing faithfulness to a ministry and a bunch of sinners, who decided that thanksgiving IS about giving first... And then being thankful . Please remember to pray for all the volunteers on TG, as we again attempt 2,000 meals in 24hrs. With God....all things are possible!!
