About 186 years ago, Mbopha, Mhlangani and Dingane conspired to kill the legend, iLembe eleqa amanye amalembe ngokukhalipha, King Shaka the Great. Indeed the legend died and was buried midday. From that day there was no stability in the kingdom and in the country. Whites took advantage and occupied our land without paying a cent. It was divine intervention that Shaka was killed because had he lived, he was not going to allow the settlers to take over our land and cattle. Therefore a heritage day should not be reduced to a braai day but it should be a day where we reflect our pride as the African nation. Happy Heritage Day!
