About 1952 even earlier, there was a farmers mkt of a sort same block as Capital theater but across the street. Rather narrow, and the floor had a slant to it. So the different stands were also uphill so to speak. ( My husbands sister worked there in 52.) My Mom told me that it was years ago a movie theater. When entering the screen would be in back of a person.(until they sit down!). this seems rather gross, but she said that urine would run down the floor to bottom of room. ( have not forgotten that either as she told me.) My Mom had a good mind until she passed away at age 76 in 1986. So she was not a little bit off! Long story here, but I am wondering if anyone has knowledge of this Market on Centre St. In and around the Coney Island or the previous story I tell of a movie theater.
