About 2.5 hours shy of my daughter Dots 3rd birthday (40 min ago), my wife Sarah shook me awake to two screaming children and simply stated, This is a 2-parent thing before rushing off again. I went to comfort Ellie (soon to be 1 years old) while listening to Dot yelling NO! repeatedly from the bathroom down the hall. Sarah came out, grabbed a bottle of Windex, and went right back in. Dot continued to scream bloody murder for another 15-20 min until Sarah came back out and I asked, So what exactly is going on anyways? She simply said, Go have a look. So I handed Ellie over and went in. Dot was against the wall curled up next to the toilet still screaming. I saw the issue and used my dad sense (like a spider sense) to eliminate the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible. Dot was pretty shaken up but okay. Sarah was relieved. Ellie felt left out and demanded attention for herself. So now its about an hour later and Sarah is lying in the middle of the girls room on a spare twin mattress and it sounds like Dot and Ellie are finally both asleep again. Any guesses as to what had happened, based on your knowledge of 2-year-and-364.9 days old children? Just curious. Ok, Im going to attempt to get at least 2 or 3 more hours of sleep now. Thanks for humoring me :)
