About 2 weeks ago, I saw an article written by a competing bodybuilder. He wanted to challenge himself and really take his leg development to the next level. He started lunging 1 mile 3-4 times per week. That sounded AWESOME to me (Because I am sick in the head) so I told one of my training clients about it and she was in. We started with a half mile. THen our next workout we did 7/10 mile... Today, I lunged 1 mile. I did it with my client, Cathy, who pushed ME as much as I usually push her. It sucked. It was awesome. What would surely have looked like EASY steady state cardio to the casual observer was anything BUT...our heart rate was SKYROCKETING before we hit the first 1/4 mile...sweat was pouring, and the level of exhaustion was up there with even my most revered workouts. Simple...just lunges...but it fired up EVERY inch of our bodies like almost nothing else can. If you even ever THOUGHT about doing a tough workout, I suggest you go and lunge a mile. Set the goal, work toward it, complete it. You will feel AMAZING. Not to mention be closer to possessing the most sculpted ass on the planet...(at least I hope that is what happens, cuz damn do my buns hurt like a mutha!!!!!)
