About 25 years ago I said to myself I will never be owned like a dog again. Dogs, like cats, are four legged People. Different than Humans but still a kind of “person.” Perhaps most animals area kind of person. I will never own or try to own a dog or a cat again. Because you can not own a person. I might one day try to “adopt and be responsible for the care for” a four legged or maybe even a two-legged person. But I think I was correct twenty-five years ago; One cannot own and must not even try to “own” any person, two or four-legged. I am investigating a corollary implication. Perhaps I do not (except in the legal sense) “own” anything. I am looking out my window at a nice car that is fully paid for. I am looking at a “vitamin-water” bottle filled with tap water sitting on my desk. I don’t think I “own” either of those objects. I am just in temporary possession of them. The Living Persons, I can also never own or be owned by. We can just accompany each other.
