About 5 weeks ago, I had a couple of lymph nodes removed under my armpit that looked suspicious on a scan. It was minor surgery and fortunately, the nodes were negative for cancer. The incision healed nicely for 4 weeks and then suddenly developed into about a golf ball-size cyst at the incision site. The doc drained it and cultured it and the results were a garden-variety staph-nothing earth-shattering. Went through a cycle of antibiotics that appears to have done the job. However, the drain hole on the in ion line has continued to drain clear lymph fluid and my oncologist wont give me more chemo due to the risk of another infection and the fact that chemo delays healing of skin wounds. As soon as the drain hole heals, I can restart chemo. The surgeon gave me 3 options: the natural healing one I selected or 2 other procedures, both of which would require drain placement temporarily, no thank you. So after this long story, I am asking you all for extra prayers that this wound heals. I need the chemo. Thank you family and friends for your prayers and encouragement. I love you all from the bottom of my heart!
