About 800,000 youths leave school every year and begin looking for jobs so that they can be able to provide an economically secure future for a family and own.2 million young kenyans whether educated or not are without work or income,it is against this background then that the over300 youths from Mosop gather at kabiyet social hall on 26th April to discuss te problems ie unemploymnt, poverty, schooldrop out, drug abuse etc and how to benefit with the resources that come with new dispensation of Governance. They formed®istered MOYET WELFARE SOCIETY under societies Act Cap.108 of Laws of kenya. Each ward proposed a member to the executive commitee l/official and duribg the Launch on 20TH DEC they were confirmed. Moyets constitution is supreme,it defines the scope of its activities&clearly distances its members from any political form and/or anticipating a political mileage from this group.Moyet is therefore a nonpolitical&non profit org tat seeks to empower Mosop youths&tryinf to find solutions to the challenges facing them from unemployment to social issues hence making te Mosop youths job creators not Job seekers for sustainable growth. Moyet has been undertakin several activities ie capacity building, bodaboda youth empowermnt etc inthe 7 wards on Mosop constituency thou in smallscale.2015 will see Moyet realize its action&implementation plan ACTION&IMPLEMANTATION PLAN 1)Establish&run/operate projects in every ward-This will be done under the model of Build Operate Transfer(B.O T)the society will employ proffessional consultancy for managemnt&running of projects, the proceeds will accrue to the members safe for managemnt fee.these projects are estimated to create jobs upto 5,000 Mosop youths & will guarantee regular income,te managemnt will b reslonsible 4 lookin 4 te products.already markets have been identified 4 te projects poised to roll 2)REGISTER A LIMITED COMPANY.-a company will be an affiliate subsidiary entity for Moyet Welfare Society.the rationale of this undertaking is te fact tat it is hard for an individual owned business entitt to apply for procurement opportunities both in National&County governmnting together as mosop youth will grant them an upperhans in a competitive biding process for tenders.when tenders are atttained ie road&building construction/culverts the members will benefit@kkv since job opportunities have been created. 3)REGISTER A SACCO SOCIETY.-Moyet believes tat members without income cannot be compelled to form a sacco;in this regard,we expect to encourage members ie bodaboda to save & borrow.having given them abilitt thru above slated projects,te sacco will be owned by Mosop youths & will accept savings&borrow loans at low rates. Moyet believea that youth innitiative like this, when well planned, fully supported financially&morally&correctly implemented have the potential to greatly reduce problem of youth unemployment&contribute in enhacing te economic vitality in Nandi county. Registration fee is 200/= and by having like&join Moyet in facebook doest guarantee you being a Moyet member.i urge all fb members whi have not registered with the sec&treasurer and incase of any clarification call the nearest official.
