About Department of Mechanical Engineering in NREC Mechanical Engineering is one of the major activities in the engineering profession and its principles are involved in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. Continued research and development have led to better machines and processes helping the mankind. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest departments. The department is continuously striving to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry oriented research as well as consultancy work with service to the society. We aim to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Narsimha Reddy Engineering College (NRCM) is as old as the Institute itself. Today, the department of mechanical engineering of Narsimha Reddy Engineering College (NRCM) attracts and features an extraordinary rich diversity and quantity of talented individuals, with nearly 24 post graduates, 480 graduate students and over 15 faculty members. The impressive array of students makes the department as the largest in this College. Sound knowledge of teaching staff and well industrial experienced non-teaching staff are existed in Mechanical department. Academic course work and projects are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering, and the capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership and technical expertise. The department aptly makes use of the technical facility of the workshop in teaching and in setting up of in-house experimental set-ups. Apart from carrying out practical classes as per academic curriculum, workshop caters to needs of different departments of the Institute in terms of executing works of their B.Tech and M.Tech students as well as other related research/consultancy works. With a solid grounding in the principles and practice of mechanical engineering, our undergraduates are ready to engage in ethical approaches to engineering, with concern for society and the environment. Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of engineering, physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. Academics: The Department offers various course based degree programmes. The following degrees are offered by Department of Mechanical Engineering programmes. Course Based: • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering • Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Thermal Engineering Postgraduate programme is offered in Thermal Engineering field with good laboratory. Over thirty one elective topics are offered to the graduate and post-graduate students as per JNTU-Hyderabad. The passed out graduate students are well placed in leading companies those are MRF, L&T, Navayuga, Sudhakar PVC, AGI-glasspac, Power Mech & Sagar Cement. Some of them were actively pursues M.S. in Gjovik University of college in Norway. VISION: • To produce high quality undergraduates and postgraduates in mechanical engineering. • To carry out high quality research that supports undergraduate and postgraduate education objectives and to assist in the economic development of the region and nation. • To develop and serve practicing engineers, industry, government, educational and technical societies through consultancy work by providing professional expertise. • To develop an exciting and supportive learning environment that transforms our students and inspires them to make a real difference in society. MISSION: To provide students with a sound mechanical engineering education, advance the understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles, teaching, research, and outreach programs. The Office of Alumni Affairs and External Relations in NRCM have been created to facilitate the interaction of the institute with its alumni and to encourage and develop academic, industrial and research collaborations and contacts with other organizations.
