About IBS, Hello juniors Congratulations to you all for making it to IBS Hyderabad. Well I have been going through a lot of your queries on IBS 2014-2016 community on Facebook and it looks like all of you are really very enthusiastic for your upcoming college life as I have seen a lot of queries regarding hostel accommodation, clubs and all. I am sure you will have a great time here. There must be some mixed emotions in your mind. Some of you already have been through the hostel life before and others might be facing this life for the first time. Don’t worry, one day everyone has to come out of one’s comfort zone. My advice to you all is utilize each and every day of your life to learn something new which will make you the best managers in the world. Clubs form an important part of IBS Hyderabad and already there has been a lot of post regarding it. I have already posted an image where all the clubs main activities are listed. You can go through it. Best wishes to all! We are going to provide you almost each and every detail about IBS Hyderabad here in this document. Please go through the entire document and then if you find some more issues you can throw them at us. 1. HOSTEL FACILITY • One with common washroom. Each floor has 2 washrooms. o It has 2 or 3 bathing areas o Also 2 or 3 commode areas. o Washrooms are cleaned every day. • Without attached washroom ( You have to pay extra 10k for this) – Commonly referred to as VIP Hostels of IBS Hyderabad All rooms are Single Occupancy. Below things are provided in a room • Bed • Wardrobe • Study Table • Chair • Balcony Laundry service is provided in the hostel every day. • Charges o Washing only – Rs. 4/- o Washing + Ironing – Rs. 7/- • Every Washroom has one washing machine also, so u can use that as well. Internet Facility is provided 24x7 with LAN and Wi-Fi. The rooms will be randomly allocated when you will reach there in the campus again. Sweepers come once in a week (Saturday or Sunday) to keep your rooms clean. They keep the corridor clean every day. Table-tennis and badminton facility are also provided in the hostel. A common TV room, plus TV rooms on Floor 2, 3 and 4. Barber shop in boy’s hostel and Beauty Saloon in Girls Hostel. 2. FOOD FACILITY • There are two messes that provide daily food. It consists of: o Breakfast (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) o Lunch (12:00 PM to 2:00 PM) o Snacks (4:30 PM to 6:30 PM) o Dinner (8:00 PM to 10:00 PM) • Also besides this o Bingers (Our Night Café and Lifeline at IBS) (From 7 PM to 2:30 AM) o Dhabas just outside College Campus o Canteens are available on 1st floor of every mess. 3. ADDITIONAL FACILITIES • A swimming pool – Charges 300/- per month. • Newspaper Facility available in the campus itself. You can subscribe to almost every newspaper available in Hyderabad. • On weekends and sometime on weekdays we have to and fro Bus Facility to Hyderabad City at 50 INR. • Gym is available at free cost in the campus itself for both boys and girls. P.S. SMOKING OR DRINKING IS A PUNISHABLE OFFENCE. 4. COLLEGE TIMINGS • Class timings would be generally between 9AM to 6 PM (Classes start at 9:00 AM or 10:45 AM, with a 75 minute gap between the lectures) • The Campus timing is 10 PM, You have to come back into the campus on or before 10 PM. The girls are not allowed to go outside campus after 9 PM. • The Hostel timings are 11 PM. You need to come back to hostel before 11 PM. 5. DRESS CODE IN IBS There is no specific dress code in IBS Hyderabad. About Formals in the class, as a management institute, every student should wear formals in the class. But you can wear casuals also. Some faculty insists on wearing formals in the class but other than you can wear DECENT CASUALS. I hope u understand DECENT. Business Suit: A business suit is a must. Carry that along to the campus while coming. 6. MOBILE CONNECTION Idea and Docomo works best here. You can get new SIM-CARDS from here in the campus itself. We have a recharge shop in the campus only. You can get recharge of every service provider like Idea, Airtel, Vodafone, DOCOMO. But Idea and DOCOMO work best here. 7. JAI MATA DI – General Store There is a shop in the campus itself. You can find almost everything here of daily use. Beddings and all you can buy it from campus itself. You can find the following things for your initial setup in the hostel: • Bucket • Mug • Curtains • Mattress • Pillow • Broom • Shoe Stand You don’t need to carry it from home. This shop is another life-line of IBS P.S. There is another store that opens only during the new batch cycle. We tried to cover as much as we can.
