* About Jealousy * ~ Abhijit Its a bane, no two ways about it. Inspiration and jealousy are like the diverging branches of the same tree. The source of both is the same - a sort of perceived superiority of another person that makes us feel inferior in some way. But while inspiration gives us a reason to achieve a similar level of success as the other person, jealousy makes us focus on that persons negatives more. So inspiration makes you go up higher, while jealousy simply makes you pull the other person down. Jealous people suffer from the illusion that bringing the other person down is a good idea. This is nonsense. Bringing the other person down may ultimately put both you and the other person at the same level, true, but that level is nothing to be happy about. Two people languishing at the bottom isnt helpful at all. But when you get truly inspired by the other person, you climb up the ladder yourself. Ultimately, both you and the other person may meet at the same level here too, but that level will be many times higher than where you started from. Two people sitting at the top isnt bad now, is it?
