About This Book Why would a Non-Muslim want to read the story of Mohammed? Mohammed’s story is the most incredible story never told. It is said that truth is stranger than fiction and honestly, NO-ONE could have made this up. There are battles, murders, intrigues, rapes, assassinations, torture, intimidation, and much much more. Along the way Mohammed invented Jihad, the most effective system of conquest ever devised. Mohammed’s life story is also the key which unlocks the complexities and confusion of the Islamic religion itself. By understanding his story we quickly gain a clear insight into Islam and the incredible importance this subject holds for our future. This amazing book pulls no punches and brings the subject to life in a way which is both fascinating and informative. Rather than looking at Islam through a prism of Western (and by default, Christian) perspective, it examines the Islamic perspective itself. In doing so it illuminates the contrast between Western and Islamic ethics and beliefs in plain and simple language which makes it a delight to read. There are no apologies, no excuses and no pretending. This is not Islam as we want it to be, this is Islam as it really is. You need to read this book now because in today’s world, this information is vital. Review of “The Story of Mohammed, Islam Unveiled” by David Truman, B.A. Hons, Russian Language & Literature and Political Science This is a very useful and succinct introduction to Islam for non-Muslims. Why? Because it is impossible to understand Islam without understanding Mohammeds life and teachings. The Koran is only about one-seventh of the total volume of Islams sacred texts (Koran, Sira and Hadiths). The other six-sevenths of the doctrinal content of Islam is found in the official biography of Mohammed (the Sira) and the written traditions of what Mohammed is supposed to have said and taught (the Hadiths). This is why reading the Koran alone is totally inadequate to understanding Islam. . Mohammed’s life and teachings need to be known and understood to achieving a proper understanding of Islam. The Koran says 91 times that Mohammed is the perfect Muslim - the divine human prototype, the only pattern acceptable to Allah. If a modern Western observer wishes to evaluate the Islamic claim that Mohammed was the perfect man, he must turn to a book written by a non-Muslim. Why? Because a majority of Sunni scholars closed the gates of ijtihad (independent critical thought) about a thousand years ago, and that means that critical study and evaluation of the life and teachings of Mohammed have been forbidden in Islam - indeed, regarded as blasphemy. Harry Richardsons book is an excellent and manageably short investigation of Mohammedan Islam - an aggressively proselytizing religion with claims not to share the world but to be the world. This book goes beyond a pure biography of Mohammed to the practical application of Islam and what it means for non-Muslims. The book contains many valuable insights. For example, it explains how the idea of “greater” Jihad meaning “to struggle to improve oneself” comes from a weak (less authentic) collection of hadith (page 14). This is important to understanding the essential Islamic concept of Jihad, which Mohammed developed as an entirely new, and evidently permanent - right up to the present day - form of warfare against Kaffirs (non-believers) - p36. The book usefully explains a series of the rules of jihad - pp 23, 26, 30, 34, 54. It details the evolution of the Koran’s teachings from the Mecca phase to the Medina phase. Importantly, readers become enlightened to the vital concept of abrogation (p. 27) Islams attitude toward the Jews, women, the practice of beheading, slavery, and belief in predestination (fatalism) are all insightfully examined. The book also describes the tactic of imposing Dhimmitude upon conquered non-Muslims (p 43 onwards) - the third choice - and sets out starkly Islams war on free speech, and the acquiescence in this by Western progressives (p 53 onward). Particularly enlightening is the reference to The Project, the blueprint of the Muslim Brotherhood to whiteant and bring down the West from within (p 83). This is essential reading for any Westerner seeking to understand Islam’s agenda today.. Harry Richardsons purpose in writing this short book has been to inform non-Muslims about the nature of Islam and what its doctrine and current aggressive expansionism has in store for us. “The Story of Mohammed” excellently achieves his purpose.
