A Little History: Matthew Okello started Uganda Child Care Foundation in March 2008 after a trip as a journalist to the refugee camps in the Pader District of northern Uganda. After witnessing the suffering of the families and children living within the camp he began to envision a way in which he could serve and bring healing to those affected by the war. Matthew began using his salary from his job as a journalist to serve the kids with no families that lived within the refugee camps. He helped feed the children, as well as, pay for their school tuitions. He sought to establish a sustainable system that would change both the lives of the children, and would bring healing to their community. Today UCCF continues to focus on serving children who have been affected by the war and HIV/AIDS. Through supplying basic necessities and an education, UCCF is working towards bringing both healing and a bright future to this area of northern Uganda.
