About a month ago a Priest in my hometown was murdered in church! Today, an Orthodox Rabbi was murdered on his way to synagogue in Miami! I am deeply sad about this murder and shaken by all hate crime (especially with the radically growing fundamentalism & global Antisemitism). I am distraught by the all too common reality that we only cry with outrage for our own. Each of us might ask ourselves: Who am I willing to hit the streets to march for when theyre victimized? Will gentiles protest in Miami tomorrow or only Jews? Will the Jewish community stand in solidarity with other communities when the hate is directed at them? We must all stand up against hate wherever it emerges. Almighty, help each of us expand our sphere of concern beyond our most immediate ideological circle! We know that hate will be eradicated from the earth when we do the job you gave us of loving and protecting every human created in your Image!
