About a month ago, we travelled more than 8,000km to film a wedding in Waiheke, New Zealand. The trip was long, but we dont mind. Especially when you are travelling with your good friends from Big Bliss Weddings. The weather was cold, but it was sunny. They say it was going into summer season. We get carried away sometimes because the sun sets not until 7 to 8pm, and we havent eaten dinner yet. We could do so many things back in manila if it was the same. We first stayed in Auckland. It was a combination of a booming city and beautiful sights nearby. Well, I think New Zealand is really blessed to have such wonderful sceneries all around. We then travelled to Waiheke, which is an Island away from Auckland. We had to take a ferry going there and rent up a car to reach our hotel. The view in Waiheke was breathtaking. We are surrounded with virgin beaches and vineyards. Fast forward to wedding day, the weather was not so cooperative. It was drizzling. I remember when I was supposed to do the establishing shot, the rain poured so hard. I was already outside of the hotel and I really cannot make it back. So, I had to take cover in the tiny shade of a tree! For 10 Minutes just cramping myself in! The mood during the preparation was nostalgic. The guests were exchanging old stories and clearly, they are missing each other. An hour before the ceremony, it was still drizzling. I was already nervous since we cannot use the view that we all came for! The sound system had to pack their equipment inside and wont set up until the skies clear up. I really cannot imagine how will the wedding be if it were done inside. Then the rain toned down. Looking at the path of the clouds I can see sunshine. Yes! We can proceed outside! I can now see why David and Clarisse instantaneously fell in love with Mudbrick. The view was amazing. The big cross is a perfect complement. Then the goosebumps moment. It was still cloudy when the entourage started walking down the aisle. I remember David constantly looking up to check the sky. Then it was Clarisses turn to walk. The sun came out as if it was giving its approval. It was a perfect timing. Good thing I can contain myself and hold back my tears! We really enjoyed the experience. We are privileged to hear heartfelt stories and gain new friends. Thank you David and Clarisse for letting us film your wedding. It was really a memorable experience. Of course, I couldnt have done it without the big help from our local friends, Jet Morales (NZ finest!) Thank you Jet for all your help! And Julius Olaya, my lead videographer. Thank you guys! The best kayo! And Now, here it is. Enjoy The wedding film!
