About a year ago I was mesmerized by a pair of blue eyes. Her name was Sparkle, she was emaciated and she had just lost her leg 3 weeks ago. But her spirit & personality captured me. After a week I actually took her back to the rescue I just couldnt handle 2 dogs but I couldnt leave the parking lot from bawling hysterically. So I went back, took a chance and adopted her. I named her Sultan (Turkish word for strength&female royalty) because she is. Aside from being so skinny she had alopecia at the time, shedding, and was not house trained. When I gave her food she would have an allergic reaction and after several visits to the vet I decided to start hand making her food with organic sources of protein. She started looking and feeling so much better. After a while I found a food that she could tolerate without allergic reaction, her alopecia healed, she had a nice shiney coat and after a lot of patience and help she was potty trained. She just had her annual comprehensive exam and she is extremly healthy. A short while ago my family came to visit...now, you need to understand they grew up believing dogs were dirty and dangerous. By the time they left they had all fallen in love with my dogs especially Sultan. She has such a personality on her that my family was confused when I explained how people think pitbulls are dangerous. Im glad I never left that parking lot without my little princess.
