This kind of celebration was introduced in 2003 and it is being held every 3rd week of June until the 4th week of July. Under this project, several activities are being conducted such as Business Conferences, Forums, Trainings, Seminars, Trade Fair & Exhibits, etc. On its 6th year of celebrating YAMAN Gensan which was held last June 23 – July 30, 2008, there were about 48 activities that were successfully carried out with the cooperation of different agencies in Gensan both from public and private sectors. OTOP – This One Town One Product concept is just one successful scheme in developing micro, small and medium entrerprises (MSMEs) to produce, offer and make distinctive products or services through the use of indigenous raw materials, local skills and talents. Tuna Value Added Products or TVAP is the Gensan’s OTOP pride due to its abundance in raw materials. ISIP BARANGAY – Isang Serbisyo Isang Produkto Barangay Program is a replication of OTOP which aims to invigorate economic activity in barangays thorough entrepreneurship thereby sustaining the anti-poverty thrust of the government. The project clusters the barangays based on the Priority Industry Sectors namely; Processed Fruits, Processed Fish / Aqua-Marine, Processed Meat, Organic Products, Gifts/Housewares, Information & Communication Technology (ICT) and Tourism. IPAS – intellectual Property Alliance of SOCCSKSARGEN was organized to oversee the use of intellectual property rights as a tool for small and medium enterprises in developing their businesses, creating new products, tapping new and expanding more markets, and as well as an incentive for students to crate and innovate. This can be realized through the activities that are laid down in its plans.
