About my brother & my family: Keith Jay (who has Downs Syndrome) has been hospitalized since 2/21 & has been transferred to Harris Methodist downtown FW on 3/13. He was admitted because of severe pain/weakness in his legs & sudden inability to walk. Drs. have found a severe compression fracture in his back, requiring possibly 2 surgeries. They are baffled that he can still walk at all. Surgeries are about to be scheduled. Then several days in the hospital & rehab afterwards. Keiths mom - Ann Jay, Sister - Jana Offutt & brother in law - David Offutt have been taking care of him 24/7 as he is mentally about 2 yrs old. The main need is for sitters to be with Keith around the clock at the hospital & get the nurse when necessary. Many times, a family member will still be in the room or hospital, but will need to be talking with drs, etc. Spending the night is especially needed.
