[About my current spirit ally animal - the Butterfly] Back in early July, I had a transformational weekend retreat working closely with Dusty Staub. He asked me to go out on the land, and among other journaling and meditation exercises, to find my spirit ally animal. The animal that came to be repeatedly was a butterfly. I resisted it at first, thinking I wanted something more powerful and masculine. Finally, I surrendered to the butterfly, and all the lessons came to me in a rapid download. Since then, the butterfly has guided me in many ways. Heres a peak at my journal from that day, with the download of lessons: - A butterfly has already transformed. I’ve been going through a transformation and I’m ready. I’ve already stepped out of the cocoon. - A butterflys flight is art. Its being is art. It is pure beauty, and inspires people merely through its own flight and its own presence. - A butterflys flight is erratic and unpredictable. It doesn’t always seem to make sense, but it flows with the wind and always gets to where it wants to go. My path is often not direct, and has a lot of unique and unexpected detours, and brings me exactly where I need to go. - The butterfly is not meant to be caught. Don’t go where people try to catch me, but land where they don’t. - - A lot of entrepreneurs right now seem to want to harness me in some way, through either a partnership or as my clients or otherwise. Don’t be caught, stay free flowing and do what’s right. Yanik has never tried to ‘catch’ and that freedom of calling is what makes it right. I won’t have my highest contribution where I’m caught, but I will where I choose to land. - - Same with all relationships. Don’t go where people want to capture you, but rather flow freely to where you desire to land. - A butterfly’s life is short lived (in secular time), but it lives in sacred time, so does not worry about its imminent death. It just displays its beauty. - The butterfly effect (a butterfly that flaps its wings causes a typhoon around the world): my small actions, especially when empowering and inspiring others, have a huge ripple effect on the world. Keep sparking great things, and don’t look for immediate returns. - The butterfly is my mastery, it’s my existing beauty, already transformed. Accept and love that beauty, express that beauty. Sometimes that’s my highest contribution with agency work, sometimes that’s the coaching and inspiration. - Much of my work with others, especially in my generation, is about helping them transform (caterpillar to cocoon to butterfly). Much of the work I’m stepping into now is “heart centered transformation” hence the doodle with the butterfly inside the heart. - A butterfly is a pollinator. It creates new life by bringing seeds from one source to another. *This* has been one of my greatest contributions, and I’ve just started the path of pollination. - While butterflies are not the most efficient pollinators out there (like bees), they fly and carry seeds/pollen in much farther distances. My unique “cross-pollination” impact is cross-generational … this theme is currently my greatest work and purpose. [Day 28 of my open journal experiment] I drew a butterfly within a heart to represent heart transformation and freedom of love. Im considering using the attached as a personal logo concept eventually. Outside of its a butterfly, thats a little feminine, etc - any feedback on this?
