About our instructor... Amy Brown is an award winning veteran of the professional and amateur stage. Living in Maine and while attending Gordon College in Massachusetts, Mrs. Brown has played roles as diverse as the tragic Suzanne Carlton in BACK COUNTY CRIMES (for which she was awarded the All New England Cast Award), Laurie in OKLAHOMA, and Karen in THE CHILDREN’S HOUR. Amy is also a professionally trained lyric soprano having performed such roles as: Mimi in LA BOHEME; the title role of Iolanthe in the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta of the same name (opposite NYGASP’s Stephen Quint); and other roles in operas such as: THE BARBER OF SEVILLE and SISTER ANGELICA. Mrs. Brown also brings years of teaching experience to her position with High Mountain Community Theater, having previously taught drama and voice.
