About patching things up with my local friend here, well, we were facebook friends for a solid 2 years. Just friends. She was cool and still is. But the situation that unfolded that caused our estrangement was that right at the exact time that my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, this lady found herself in a momentary economic difficulty in paying her phone bill. I explained my situation and that I really didnt have the head for it. She kept on me. So at that moment, I made a desperate, thoughtless decision to just cut her off and blocked her as my friend. I knew what a crucible that entire event would be for my mom and I. So everything else just seemed like minor static. Which it actually was. She survived. Even without my help. Thats how it usually goes. Well, that was 22 months ago and everything came down the way it was meant to and here we are. So I happened across her name here on facebook yesterday and thought about making it up to her. So I did. I showed her my Spiritual Explorations video and explained to her that it would probably be a good idea for her to also use that TV medium as a way to promote her Cuisine business. So I gave her the hosts name and contact info and gave her the run down on how she could promote herself here locally and in Manhattan as well. I also told her that I have a cousin that got himself on one of those cable cooking contests and how that could be used for national exposure. She was so grateful and appreciative, as was I. She really is a very cool person. A delight to know. Im just happy that we had the chance to make a new start and that I had the chance to be a blessing to her life. Thats what friends are for.
