About roughly this time 73 years ago, the United States experienced one of the worst disasters of its history. Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor killing more than 2,000 sailors and soldiers and wounding over 1,000 more. The attack on Pearl Harbor ultimately propelled the United States to enter World War II. On this day we mourn the loss of all those who perished during the attack. I not only salute them, I salute all veterans who served past, present, and future. On a side note, I was lucky enough to interview Al Collins, a veteran who witnessed the attack at Pearl Harbor. Preserving history like that is what makes my job one of the greatest in the world. If youre in the area today, dont forget that we have a piece of the USS Oklahoma at the Muskogee War Memorial Park, today is a good day to pay tribute to it. Thanks!
