About that Cuba reset -- for those still interested in something called Separation of Powers, Obamas pronouncement is in brazen violation of myriad laws, including: 1) the Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917 2) the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 3) the Cuba Assets Control Act of 1963 4) the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992 5) the Helms–Burton Act of 1996 and… 6) the Trade Sanctions Reform & Export Enhancement Act of 2000 The Cuban Democracy Act was passed with the purpose of maintaining sanctions on Cuba so long as the Cuban government refuses to move toward “democratization and greater respect for human rights… The Helms–Burton Act, which restricted U.S. citizens from doing business with Cuba, also restricted public or private assistance to any successor government in Havana unless and until certain claims against the Cuban government were met. So, again the president is IGNORING statues debated in Congress, passed by it, and signed, by his predecessors, into LAW… The question now is -- will Congress allow him to NULLIFY their powers and continue to violate the Constitution? What were witnessing is full-blown dictatorship -- a condition made possible by Republicans who, despite VOWING to do so, refuse to initiate constitutional checks.
