About the #BookBucketChallenge, Nitish Bharadwaj and Shivi Shivangi challenged me a couple of days back. I was unable to pick out ten books, and after 2 days of brainstorming, I could come up with these... 1. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (none of my list will be complete without this) 2. Short Stories by O.Henry And Anton Chekhov (solely because they help me immensely in writing short stories) 3. The Bhagwat Gita (Do I need a reason for this one?) 4. आनंदमठ- बंकिमचंद्र चट्टोपाध्याय ( I have read a so much premchand but this one book sent goosebumps in me) 5. Manuscripts Found in Accra ( I wish I had even a percent of Coelhos greatness) 6. Luka and the Fire of Life- Salman Rushdie (Ah! the beauty of a fable!) 7. Empires of The Indus- Alice Albinia (because of my constant, undying lust for the Indus Valley) 8. By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept (an exceptional journey of a lover... took me 7 days to read 200 odd pages) 9. Gods And Godmen of India- Khushwant Singh ( canny take on our beliefs) 10. पुखराज- गुलज़ार ( gulzaar at his best) Now, this was not easy...the list is from the current lot of books that I have with me. Madhushala by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Gora and She by RN Tagore, Valmiki Ramayan, Dinkars works, Premchands dozen novels...etc...are engraved heavily in my heart but I dont have them at present in Delhi. They are at my other places and they are aplenty. In the process of picking these 11, I had to decide against the books on the right, which I presently do have. Atleast double of these are at Patna and Muzaffarpur...and many which I read at various libraries. So the list is still pretty controversial for me. That is why I didnt want to take the challenge! (._.) About Nominating people, umm... Abhigyan Parashar, Apoorv Shandilya, Ankita Anand, Akanksha Dwivedi, Abhinav Dwivedi, Eesha Nayak, Ankita Dwivedi, Madhurima Chattopadhyay and Anurup Chakraborty! Dont kill me people, I have been trapped in this challenge! :p
