About the Laughing Samoan concert last night. Got there round 3.30 pm and waited in line till the gates opened at 5 pm. Our Samoan church Minister the Rev Afa Afato was present with his daughter as well as a small trickle of Samoans including our whole Alama family and some from PRS and other places and we all waited in line together. As soon as they finally opened the gates, the croud just streamed in and it was so amazing to find that the croud was made up of mostly the members of the Fijian public. I have never been to an event where it says Samoa but we were outnumbered, but maybe it was also because many thought that the tickets wouldnt be sold out quickly. We also had Tongans, Tokelauans, Gilbertese and other Pacific Island peoples. So when we were seated inside, entertainment was provided for another hour or so as people kept coming and as we awaited the main act. Lovely to hear some Rotuman music and Pacific dances and so on. When the laughing Samoans finally got there, the chears were deafening to the ears and the show began as usual with Tofiga doing his utmost best to make people laugh. Then we had the 6 pm news where that reporter Tala-Smith reported on issues from all over NZ. We then had 2 school chilldren debating on what was and wasnt in the bible. Also we had a conversation about a Samoan who went to NZ for a few months, but returned not being able to speak Samoan or English. We had a deaf hardware store owner and his customer. We had Tala as the main air hostess on Samoa air with her niece Fai. We had the Father and son. We also had the 3 little Picks. Hahahaha. All through out, the boys intergrated Fiji into the show and that endeared them to the crouds even more. We also had a vidio shown by the Utoniyalo trust as well as that beautiful vidio of the late Tai Kami and her song Walk On, walk Strong and a member of the Kami family spoke to thank everyone and gave the message. They were also selling t shirts and afterwards, people got a chance to get them signed by the boys and get their picture with them. Also met up with Samoan and friends from Tokelau and Tuvalu. A blessed Sunday to all.
