About us Community Emergency Response Team is a owner run business focussing on unique needs within the greater Table View area which includes the older side of Table View such as Flamingo Vlei and West Riding, Parklands and Sunningdale, West Beach, Waves Edge and Marine Circle and the Blouberg surrounds. Crime is VERY rife in our area with house break-ins occurring many times a day and night. The greater Table View area is one of the highest areas in the Western Cape for house break-ins. Then, of course, the various other crimes in Table View such as robberies, muggings, theft of motor vehicles, theft out of motor vehicles etc are also extremely high and on the increase. Table View is seen as a property related crime area and not a high contact crime area. What this means is we have very high property related crimes such as house break-ins and theft of motor vehicles but low contact crimes such as murder and rape. Based on this, there are only 3 SAPS patrol vehicles in the greater Table View area at any given time. The Table View policing structure is broken up into 3 sectors. Sector 1 being West Beach, Waves Edge, Marine Circle and surrounds, Sector 2 being Parklands and Sunningdale and sector 3 being the old Table View such as Flamingo Vlei and West Riding areas. There are only 3 SAPS vehicles at any given time for all these 3 sectors, 1 SAPS vehicle per sector. This is absurd but the way it is. Then we have our security companies operating in the greater Table View area who are doing a FANTASTIC job but our area is HUGE and growing daily. The Table View Neighbourhood Watch is growing nicely and putting out many vehicles per night in each sector to try and curb crime by being visible and doing visible patrols and being the eyes and ears for the SAPS. I URGE the residents of Table View to find out more about joining your Neighbourhood Watch and becoming pro active in the fight against crime. HOWEVER, there is a MASSIVE gap in our area and this is where Community Emergency Response Team comes into play. Basically, we look after the residents of the greater Table View area, no matter where you are within Table View. This ranges from a flat tyre to vagrants messing in your bin to being harassed at a shopping centre to somebody jumping over your wall to suspicious persons / vehicles to house break-ins etc. Please refer to our "Services we offer" page for a detailed description of what we do and offer.
