Above Only Daily Devotional cgmglobal.org/aboveonly Monday, January 19 PRAYING LIKE EPAPHRAS Colossians 4:12-13 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I pray that the grace of God that was upon the life of Epaphras (in our text above) will be upon your life today and throughout this year. I also want you to pray the amazing prayer that he consistently labored and fervently prayed for the believers in Colossae, i.e., that they would stand, and that they would be perfect and complete in all the will of God for their lives. Imagine with me for a moment, what the implications of God answering this prayer would be. 1John 5:14-15 says, and this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. When you are praying this prayer, you are praying Gods desire and you are praying Gods will. As you pray fervently about it, Gods power will be made available. God will rain down this grace upon you and upon all those you pray for. I pray that God will also guide you by His Spirit to prayers like this in His Word that you will need to experience His grace for dominion this year. You will pick up burdens which are on the heart of the Spirit and pray them into your life and into the lives of others. In our text above, Apostle Paul said that, this was something that Epaphras always did. No wonder Apostle Paul described him as a dear fellow servant and a faithful minister of Christ, Col.1:7. I pray that you will be fervent in prayers and also in intercession this year. PRAYER: Lift up your life and the lives of others today and ask God for the grace to stand perfect and complete in all of His will for your life and theirs this year.
