Selah. Come; behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen; I will be exalted in the earth. -------------------------------------------------------------------- A normal bow is made from wood. When the psalmist is talking about a bow of steel he must be referring to strong attacks and afflictions that were coming against him. If it was his bow he wouldnt want to break it. There are times when you are going through a situation that you desperately want to see come to an end. The God that you serve knows how to end such situations and He can teach you how to go about ending them. Terrible wars and conflicts of all kinds can also be divinely stopped by your Almighty God. The Prince of Peace is a Master of calming storms. God knows how to bring afflictions to an end. Nahum 1:7-9 says “the LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.” Get ready to see the Lord of hosts in operation. The term Lord of hosts in the Bible refers to the God that leads the Armies of Heaven. Whether it is in your spiritual life, family, ministry, health or any area of your life; trust God today for strength and wisdom to end all manner of afflictions. Declare in faith that those bows of steel are broken today. The Egyptians you see today tomorrow shall be no more. You will sing a new song. In Exodus 15:21, the Bible says “and Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.” Gods Name will be glorified in your life.
