Absconding Head Mistress arrested in Bihar mid-day meal tragedy In Bihar, the Special Investigation Team has arrested Meena Devi, the absconding headmistress of Dharmasati Primary School in Saran district. Bihar Director General of Police Abhyanand while confirming the arrest said, SIT is interrogating arrested headmistress. He refused to divulge the details. On the other hand, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that after the police interrogation it will be clear that the incident was incidental or conspiracy, but he added that prima facie it seems that the sad incident was not incidental. The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has sought action taken report from the Bihar government on the recent midday meal tragedies in Madhubani and Chapra. The Commission has issued notices to Bihar Chief Secretary and DGP, and asked them to submit the reports within four weeks. In Dharmasati village of Saran district 23 children were died after consuming contaminated mid-day meal on 16th of this month.In Madhubani, 50 students had fallen ill after consuming the Mid-day meal.
