Absolutely overjoyed on the Nobel Prize to Malala! I first met her in 2009 before the military operation in Swat. That was a scary time, Swat had fallen to the Taliban and things were pretty hopeless in Pakistan - everyone was conceding to the Taliban, the government, the mighty army, politicians, and unfortunately ordinary Pakistanis as well. But somehow she mustered courage to take a stand that most others would not even think of, at great personal risk. She spoke up for girls education and against the pathology of hate and violence. Her suffering in the process was very painful. Also the fact that Pakistan has been so unkind to her. Well, it took 5 years and finally the prize is here. Malala many congratulations, strength to you! Yousafzai Ziauddin
