I attended the vigil to show support and someone there brought up the idea of peaceful protest of the SS police department/police brutality/excessive force/injustice when it comes to legislation against cops. KSL News has agreed to cover it but it wont make much of an impact if no one is there. I am inviting anyone interested to maybe provide some ideas as to how to pull this off, maybe we can get a few people together and try to show our local legislation how we respond to such heinous acts going largely unpunished. I have spoken with other mothers of biracial/adopted black children and all of them have echoed a sentiment of fear and lament at having to brief their children on how to deal with law enforcement, simply because their skin color in relation to the history of our nation warrants different sets of protocol.
