Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days. The people asked, Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah? He said, Not even jihaad for the sake of Allaah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing. (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2/457). The Good Deeds to be done in these days (10 days of Dhul-Hijjah) 1. Fasting 2. Supererogatory Prayers 3. Feeding the poor 4. Visiting the sick 5. Connecting the ties of kinship 6. Visiting the prison yards 7. Visiting the grave yards 8. Saying Takbeer,Tahmeed,Tahleel and Tasbih. 9. Fasting on Yawmul-‘Arafah-Next week Friday. 10. Sacrificing on ‘eid day 11. Giving Sodaqah-Charity 12. Helping to Pay off peoples’ debts 13. Performing Hajj 14. Helping the Poor 15. Performing Solatu-Duhah. 16. Reciting the Noble Qur’an 17. Learning Tawheed, Arabic, Fiqh etc 18. Reading Islamic Literature to learn more about the deen 19. Teaching others the Deen 20. Getting Married for Allah sake 21. Sincere Repentance 22. Praying Tahajjud 23. Attending the 5 daily obligatory prayers in the Masjid for men… 24. Buy clothes, shoes, etc for your family (for e’id) 25. Buy Islamic Books for people as gift. Among others. We ask Our Rabb, The Most High and Powerful to make good deeds easy for us and distance us from evil deeds. Aameen.
