Abuja blast: Senate committee pledges CCTV in parks, markets The senate committee on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, yesterday pledged to allocate adequate funds for the FCT administration to enable it install enough Close Circuit Television (CCTv) cameras in all the motor parks and markets within the territory this fiscal year. Chairman of the committee, Senator Smart Adeyemi, made the pledge while briefing journalists after leading a team of other senators on a visit to the scene of the Monday’s bomb blast at the Nyanya motor park, which led to the death of over 100 persons in the nation’s seat of government. Adeyemi, who also visited the injured victims at the various hospitals where they were receiving treatment, described the incident as unfortunate and assured Nigerians that the government would continue to do whatever is within its jurisdiction to secure their lives and property. According to him, “Abuja has been relatively safe in the last one year so to speak. It is unfortunate that this has happened. On our part, we would look at the possibility of ensuring that now that we are still working on the FCT statutory budget, something is done about the funding of the territory. what do u think???
