Abundantly Blessed Day. . .Yesterday!!! “There is: “Nothing so strong as gentleness . . . and nothing so gentle as real strength.” -St. Francis de Sales There are several things that I continue to marvel at in life and those things are: the sweetness of puppy breath, the genuine and uninhibited smile of a child, and the fresh and unconditional love that a grandchild brings to my table of life. Yesterday, I spent several hours working alongside my 20 year old grandson. I hired Oliver (Rusty) to do a make-over on a house of ours. Like all projects of this magnitude, the prepping and demolition of the old and tattered is time consuming, much of which was accomplished. While working close at hand with my #2 grandchild, I sensed the essence of our day. He never allowed me to lead or direct, he methodically mentored me in how to do things by way of his own mindset and methods. . . I soaked it all in and challenged nothing as he was perfect in all he did. Most of all, Rusty made me feel safe as we approached the ladder to go onto the roof, he nudged up on the ladder first, reached the top, and turned and gestured for me to come up. Like an “Angel” he held the ladder, watched me, and guarded my first step onto the roof. My joy continued throughout the day. Especially when, a neighbor asked how my day was going. I proudly stated, “I have had a wonderful and blessed day, I worked for my grandson all morning.” Thank You God & Rusty too.
