Academic Module: Task 1 Advice: -You need to write 4 paragraphs and no less than 150 words. -Write an introduction that paraphrases the question statement and highlights the trend of the information with 1 or 2 sentences. -Write two details paragraphs. They must describe, compare and summarise the information. This is a MUST for any essay to score over 5.0. These two paragraphs should have 6 to 7 sentences each. -You should write a one-sentence conclusion that connects back to trend sentence in the introduction. -Use the passive tense, if the task is a process diagram. -Use a mix of different tenses, including modal verbs. -Use language like… “increasing, decreasing, rise, fall, significant and dramatic” for line graphs and bar charts. -Add an “if statement” to your essay. -Use the future tense when the information shows future predations. -Use the simple and past tense for your summaries, not the perfect tense. -Use vocabulary that is specific to the topic information. -Write clearly, with very few mistakes. -If you can do all of these things, you will score higher than 5.0.
