Academic feminism seems to suffer from the same fallacy that communist historical analysis does. An overarching cause for all the ills of society is defined (patriarchy in the case of feminism, class struggle for communism) and all events and social norms are re-evaluated under that new paradigm in order to verify it. So you presuppose a framework and then seek to verify it, which makes Karl Popper turn in his grave. The trouble with something like feminism being a kind of thing to study is that like theology negative findings against the central dogmas are not really acceptable. It is basically echo chamber academia. It has a strong tendency to be pseudoscientific, which makes it hard to take it seriously.
