Acceptance Speech delivered by Rotaractor Andy (Andrews Ofosuhene) on 9th June 2013 (President. Rotaract Club of University of Professional Studies) Rotaractor President,DRR-Elecct, ADR-Elect, Rotarians in our midst, Fellow Rotaractors’ and Guests The dawn of a new day approaches, another Rotary year is about commencing. One may ask, what is up the sleeves of the Rotaract Club in the coming year. It is one and will always be service to humanity because in this lies the profit we enjoy. As our predecessors have paved a way we hope we also will chart a course based on the principles of Rotary that is fellowshipping through service. Conversely, in our quest to make this world a better place to live in, we undoubtedly we would be faced with challenges of all sorts we believe with the untainted guidance of our predecessors we will surmount. Rotaractor President, I must acknowledge that my colleagues and I are Eveready to take up the mantle of leadership in championing the course of Service for the 2013/2014 Rotary year. As Rotary International President Elect, Ron D. Burton has asked us to “Engage Rotary… Change lives”, we will make membership the topmost priority. Especially now that we have been demarcated by Rotary International as district 9102, comprising of Benin, Niger, Togo and Ghana. I take this opportunity to entreat all students who are not Rotaractors to join the Rotaract Club on or outside campus in fellowship through service. We will do our best in taking Rotaract UPSA to a higher pedestal than we came to meet it. Making the world a better place begins with a dedicated and concerted individuals’ effort. Gargantuan thanks to the out going executives and board for the selfless efforts they exhibited during their term of service and not of office. Rotaractor President, on behalf of the new executive board we accept the mantle of servitude for the 2013/2014 Rotary/Rotaract year. In spite of the undecided Political State of affairs, uncertain economic situations, confused technological setting and dynamic Social environment; we reiterate our commitment to the 4 way test of the things we think, Say or do. • Is it the truth? • Is it fair to all concerned? • Will it build goodwill and better friendships? • Will it be beneficial to all concerned? As we engage rotary to change lives let’s keep in mind this quote from Rotary’s founder Paul Harris “Personality has the power to uplift, Power to depress, Power to curse and Power to bless” May the Almighty God Bless Rotarians, Rotaractors’ and Interactors where ever they may be Thank You Very Much for Your Audience. Yours-in-Service, ……………………… Andrews Ofosuhene (Rotaractor Andy) President 2013/14 Rotaract Club of University of Professional Studies
