Access to God ::: Question: “Why did God do this? What was so important about ripping this „veil‟ in half that God chose to make it His very first act after Jesus died on the cross?” Answer: “By ripping the „veil‟ in two, God was sending a new message to the human race!” For true followers of Christ, it tells us that: • Everything has changed between us and God • The way into God‟s personal presence is now open to us • We have now been granted direct access to God Himself – not just once a year, but every moment of every day forever! when Jesus appeared, He entered into the Holy of Holies once for all . . . not with the blood of bulls and goats, but with His own blood . . . to thereby obtain eternal redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:11, 12 “Therefore, brethren, by the blood of Jesus, we now have confidence to enter the Holy of Holies by means of this new and living way which He (Jesus) inaugurated for us through the veil.” Hebrews 10:19-20 “As a result, let us (as believers) draw near to God in full assurance of faith.” Hebrews 10:22 Jesus shed His blood and purchased our eternal redemption on the cross so that: • He could destroy the barrier between God and sinners which that “veil” in the Temple represented When a person becomes a true follower of Christ, God welcomes that person into His personal presence! We are free to enter the “Holy of Holies” and commune with God in the deepest and most intimate way – anytime, anywhere, and without any limitations! “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access into this gracious position with God in which we now stand.” Romans 5:1, 2a When we place our trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross – God grants us “favored-person status.” Sometimes I get so overwhelmed by the circumstances of life, that I forget about this “access” I have to God for a moment. God wants me to use the “access” I have to Him to get the supernatural help I need with my struggles! As a follower of Christ, you have a “gracious position with God” that the rest of mankind doesn‟t have – the “veil” is torn for you! – the “Holy of Holies” is open to you!
