Accident Reconstruction Team Investigate Accident this Morning Involving a Motor Vehicle and a Parked Poland Spring Delivery Truck On Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at approximately 9:00 AM Worcester police were called to the area of 183 Holden Street for a report of an accident involving a motor vehicle and a parked delivery truck. Upon arrival, officers observed that the passenger of vehicle, a 17-year-old female was trapped. The Worcester Fire Department was able to safely remove her from the vehicle and she was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center. She suffered from leg injuries. Her injuries are described as non-life threatening. The driver was identified as an 18-year-old female from Worcester. She was later taken to the hospital by a family member for evaluation. The parked delivery truck was occupied at the time of the crash. The truck driver was identified as a 27-year-old male from Wilmington. He was not hurt in the accident. The truck was a Poland Spring delivery truck. The preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was heading South on Holden Street when it crashed into the back of the delivery truck which was parked on the side of the street. The Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
