Accident victim wanted to start a family 26-year-old Ashmita Singh, who died after a tragic road accident in Waimalika, Nadi, on Saturday had recently told her husband that she wanted to have her first child. It has just been three months that Ashmita and Ricky Singh have been married. The two were planning to buy a new car and also repair their house in Kashmir, Lautoka. Ricky Singh said his wife who was as an ATM officer left for work on Saturday morning. Ricky said he spoke to his wife for the last time just a few minutes before the accident and she told him that she will reach home soon and they will have lunch together. He said the next phone call he received was about the tragic accident. Ashmita Singh was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man who is alleged to have lost control of the car while travelling towards Lautoka. It is alleged the vehicle hit the left side of an oncoming four wheel drive. Singh was conveyed to the Nadi Hospital and later died while the 30-year-old driver is admitted in hospital and is yet to be questioned. Meanwhile, the 68-year-old driver and the 58-year-old passenger in the other vehicle are also admitted at the Nadi Hospital. 13 people have died so far on our roads compared to 11 for the same period last year.
