Accomplished two-thirds of my culinary orgy for the week, starting with a Vermont maple cake with maple syrup icing (mastered that divinity-type icing of maple syrup and eggs whites with my candy/frying thermometer and the ball test employed for candy-making) and a mixing bowl of guacamole from straight-up scratch. Still have an eighth of that left after going through two bags of potato chips and a log of Ritz-type crackers to eat it with. Whipped up some cream of mushroom soup from scratch this morning, with wine, Italian seasoning, and chopped button mushrooms this morning. Then this afternoon, rocked an Old Kentucky nut cake, which Ill finish with creamy caramel frosting when I get back to the crilla. Guess Ill rock some eggplant parmesan tonight. Then tomorrow, its kolache--and maybe some apple-nut bread. Then Sunday morning, its corncakes and Ferry Farm sauce (heated maple syrup, honey, and cinnamon), and then for the evening meal, autumn stew (bite-sized chicken, with chopped carrots, apples, turnips, onions, and salt, black pepper, apple cider vinegar, and rosemary), chicken breasts with cornbread dressing, cornbread, and proper mac and cheese. I should be well spent by late Sunday evening ...
