According to Crenshaw County EMA Director Earl Thompson, there is an obvious storm path with damage in Crenshaw County. Thompson said there is a house on Gin Creek Road that is a complete loss with only the frame still standing and vehicles in the yard were also destroyed. Several chicken houses on Mitchell Rd. were destroyed. Barns on Mount Ida Road were damaged as well. Several power lines are still down, but all roadways seem to be clear. There are no reports of injuries. The damage occurred early Sunday morning as thunderstorms moved across south Alabama. Viewers commenting on WSFAs Facebook say there were trees downed, chicken houses and even possible homes damaged. There was more than one comment about power being out in the Glenwood community. Also, Alabama Power confirms that approximately 200 APC customers are without power as a result of the overnight weather. 87 of them are in the Tallassee area. Tornado warnings were issued for Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw and Pike Counties between 2:15 a.m. and 4 a.m. as a tornadic thunderstorm cell moved rapidly northeastward across that area. Tornado warnings were also issued for Dale and Henry Counties between 6:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. but no reports of damage are in yet.
