According to Football News, Gossip &Transfer Romours Police investigate Luis Suarez death threats as Ian Ayre insists Liverpool won’t sell By Jamie Sanderson Friday 26 Jul 2013 11:19 am Police are investigating a number of death threats sent to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez as he closes in on a move to Arsenal. The Reds striker is set to hold talks with the Gunners this weekend over a club record move to the Emirates, with Liverpool losing the battle to keep the Uruguayan. But after Brendan Rodgers called on supporters to help convince Suarez to stay at Anfield, a number of rogue supporters lodged threats against the player’s life online. Several users made the threats directly to Suarez by tweeting him. ‘If by any chance Liverpool do accept a bid, and you move, I will find you and I will kill you,’ said one message. ‘Can Arsenal just f*** off. If Luis Suarez leaves I’ll hunt him down and kill him,’ added another. Police have since issued a statement confirming that they are aware of the messages, and will be looking into them. ‘People should be aware they can be held accountable to the law for anything they write on social networking sites,’ said a spokesman to the Daily Star. The news comes after Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre reiterated his wish to keep Suarez, insisting that, despite bids from Arsenal, they still want to keep the 26-year-old. ‘We’ve received two separate offers from Arsenal and rejected both,’ he said. ‘The situation with Luis Suárez remains the same. It’s never been our intention to sell Luis.’ Full story here: Feed Me Football #CHAPTERS
