According to Marcus Terentius Varro (/ˈmɑrkəs təˈrɛnʃəs ˈværoʊ/; 116 BC – 27 BC) was the chief librarian of the Roman Republic, an ancient Roman scholar, and writer . He is sometimes called Varro Reatinus. Nine Books of Disciplines was his official curricula for Roman republican youth these nine arts: grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, musical theory, medicine, and architecture.
