According to Pew Internet’s Cell Phone Activities survey from - TopicsExpress

According to Pew Internet’s Cell Phone Activities survey from 2012, accessing the Internet from a mobile device has grown from 25% in 2008 to 56% in 2012. Also, text messaging has increased from 58% in 2007 to 80% in 2012. Other noted areas with increased usage for mobile devices are taking a picture, recording a video, email, downloading apps, checking bank account information, and accessing health information. This tells us there is an increasingly large presence of mobile users doing more and more things with their mobile devices. There is no indication from the Pew or Compuware reports or other findings I have seen that this usage will slow down or decrease. Instead, it is a marker of the trend that people are increasing their mobile usage and access to information and resources.
