According to Phenyo Butale, if the UDC can be elected into power their president will be the investigator, the prosecutor, the judge and will convict and send to jail any suspect of a crime without going through the legal and or judicial processes as stipulated in the constitution of the Republic of Botswana. Phenyo Butale writes: quote: It is criminal for Khama to be ignoring public calls for him to take action against Isaac Kgosi, who has corruption allegations hovering over him. The presidents silence implicates him in this whole gut-rot. Phenyo Butale kindly be advised that, corruption just like theft, murder, fraud etc, is a crime: 1) When there are allegations of a crime in Botswana having been committed the police investigate the allegation compile a docket and send it to DPP for action. 2) The DPP has the sole discretion in this country on whether or not to prosecute, call for further investigation and evidence, etc 3) The courts on hearing the case can pronounce on the verdict and the punishment. 4) Has anybody been convicted? Has corruption been proven against anyone regarding your call above?? 5) Is your president going to prosecute and convict fellow citizens based on newspaper articles and public calls for him to take action?? 6) Do you expect the State President to react to parallel prosecutorial and judiciary system? 7) Leave all that to the Police, DCEC, DIS, DPP and the Judiciary? 9) Is it difficult for street prosecutors and judges like Phenyo Butale and his band wagon riders to wait for the outcomes of investigations in the normal course of events???
