According to Terry Pratchett, a large enough library can actually warp the fabric of space-time. See, a library has a lot of accumulated knowledge in it. Knowledge is power. Power = (mass x distance) squared/ (time cubed). Theres enough mass and time (in the form of knowledge) in the library to affect space-time, and create something called L-space. Through L-space the library is connected to all other libraries -- in other words, all libraries are connected through the Unseen University library. Now I propose that we do the same thing on earth. We make a great big library and put as many books as we can in it, and the resulting mass of information will connect all libraries in the multiverse, solving our transportation problems. We just need to figure out how to travel through L-space. Easy to get lost in there. You could set out for Zanzibar and wind up at the knowledge singularity at the center of the space, where knowledge accumulates and cannot escape, so great is its mass. Who will guide us?
