According to a report from the conservative National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF), last year I proposed and cosponsored legislation which would result in a net cut of $144 billion in federal spending. My colleague and friend Tim Scott sponsored $138 billion in spending cuts. We both understand the simple truth that Washington spends too much, borrows too much, and taxes too much.
